YOUR sense of style should change and evolve with you, and if your wardrobe is in need of a bit of “growing up”, take a cue from Miss Unkon. Jess Pang reports from Merecedez-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney.

We all probably have a Miss Unkon girl inside us – a girl who loves fashion, loves to dream and is passionate about life.

Miss Unkon is a fashion and lifestyle label known for its contemporary feminine designs with whimsical aesthetic. Ever since the label’s debut at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week 2009, it has become one of the most sought after brands, worn by the likes of style icon Alexa Chung and folk-pop sweetheart Lisa Mitchell.

We were so excited to see Miss Unkon on the first day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Courtney Meyer, Creative Director of Miss Unkon, tells us the brand has grown up a a bit this season.

What’s the big deal about fashion week? We give you a rundown and explain why we are in Sydney for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The Spring/Summer 2012 collection The Life Between by Miss Unkon is feminine yet grungy, and features plenty of mesh, lace and flowing chiffon.

It’s hard not to fall in love with the A-line skirts, babydoll dresses, peter pan collars and flippy cap sleeves, but even more, the metallic hemlines and bursts of colour juxtaposed against the pretty pastels.

Look closer, and you’ll see the detailing, including intricate embroidery and braided silver ring trimmings.

Miss Unkon has certainly grown up into a more sophisticated young lady, without losing any of her girlish charms.
