Bio: Hailing from Melbourne’s sleepy Eastern suburbs, singer-songwriter Thomas Dylan will converge on The Hammy this Friday night to play some original tunes from his eagerly awaited independently-produced EP. What can be best described as “acoustically chill”, his music is inspired by the lyrical genius of artists such as Josh Pyke and Passenger, taking you on a journey of pain, love and life’s possibilities…and all at the tender age of 22.

Genre: Alternative folk
Date & Time: Friday 29th June, 8pm
Price: $0
Venue (Suburb): The Hammy, in Westwood Place, off Bourke Street, Melbourne.

Bio: Imagine a chance musical meeting between a Romanian gypsy violinist and a guitarist from the bayou. Now imagine this musical pairing backed by a classically trained pianist and some of the tightest beats you’re heard. What you’re imaging is something like Rare Child. They’re an alternative folk band that defy folk conventions by not singing about dead dogs, but rather Flinders St. Station, exploding magpies, dodgy uni friends, love and there’s even an occasional Britney Spears cover with banjo. They combine high energy and honest performances with authoritative command of their instruments into a striking live performance.

Bio: Zoe Ryan lives in Melbourne, having arrived here from Western Australia two years ago. You might spot her playing in bars in Brunswick, Fitzroy and other parts of Melbourne, when she’s not hitting up the open mics back home in Western Australia. She has played at iconic Melbourne venues such as the Curtin Bandroom and the Brunswick Hotel. Fans have compared her sound to Angus and Julia stone, and her direction clearly mirrors influences like Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell. If you get a chance to see her perform at this early stage in her career do so, as you will not be disappointed.
