CELEBRATE Singapore’s 47th birthday here in Melbourne! We’ve got a pair of tickets to giveaway to see the live broadcast of the National Day Parade, courtesy of Singaporeans of Victoria.

Melbourne 2012 win tickets

WHILE you won’t be able to feel the wet, soggy caress of Singapore’s humid climate and experience the country’s 47th National Day Parade live, you can still join other fellow Singaporeans in Melbourne as they celebrate Singapore’s National Day this Thursday at Waterfront Venues in Docklands.

Soak up the spirit of patriotism through the live telecast of the parade hosted by Gurmit Singh, Jean Danker, Jaokim Gomez, Sharon Au and Suhami Yusof, and featuring Singapore’s music darling Olivia Ong who will be leading this year’s theme song.

In addition to the parade, there’ll also be performances by Singaporean music celebrities Nathan Hartono (do check out his video below!) and DJ Tinc.

Oh, and food. It’s a Singaporean event. How can there not be food? Served up at 6.30pm, according to organisers.

The official festivities will be followed by an after party.

For your chance to win a pair of tickets to NDP 2012 in Melbourne, simply tell us in the comments section below, what aspect of Singapore you miss the most. Remember to provide your real name and email address so we can get in touch with you.

About

Meld Magazine was incorporated as an independent not-for-profit media outlet in September 2008 to reach out to international students in Melbourne, and provide students the opportunity to gain real work experience.

Many international students live in or around the city because of the proximity to their colleges and universities, and that was where we decided to focus our efforts first. Many of us live, work and study locally too. Our editorial team is made of both local and international students, and it has worked to our advantage in providing local content in every sense of the word.
