Fair@Square: The Sustainable Student Fashion Design Challenge 2012

ARE you passionate about fashion and the environment? Do you have an eye for design? Well then, here’s your chance to craft an ensemble fit for the Fair Fashion Show runway!

Fashion students will get a chance to parade their sustainable designs down a runway at this year’s Fair Fashion Show at the Fair@Square festival. Fair@Square is an annual fair trade and ethical event promoting smart, sustainable behaviour. It’s on from November 30 at Federation Square and is recognised as the trendsetter for environmentally-friendly fashion in Victoria.

The Sustainable Student Fashion Design Challenge 2012 will give fashion students a chance to show off their best earth-friendly creations. So if you’re enrolled in a fashion course this year, simply pull out your sewing machine and get to work on an outfits made from sustainable materials for a shot at having your designs on display.

Check out the highlights from last year’s show if you still need more convincing:

About

Meld Magazine was incorporated as an independent not-for-profit media outlet in September 2008 to reach out to international students in Melbourne, and provide students the opportunity to gain real work experience.

Many international students live in or around the city because of the proximity to their colleges and universities, and that was where we decided to focus our efforts first. Many of us live, work and study locally too. Our editorial team is made of both local and international students, and it has worked to our advantage in providing local content in every sense of the word.
