Mamak Night: A taste of home, the way you remember it, FREE!

Together with the City of Melbourne, Meld Magazine is hosting a Mamak Night and you are all invited to share a meal with us – our treat!

There’ll be “Auntie Khoo’s” Nasi Lemak, Herbal Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow and more – brought to you by a team of international student chefs and foodies from the Arrow Neighbourhood. Find out who the beloved Auntie Khoo is too when you come on the day!

Meals will be dished out from 6pm to 8.30pm, or until we find ourselves scraping the bottom of the rice pot.

We’ll also be showcasing the Two Sides of a Story Exhibition on the night, a photo exhibition documenting the challenges and hardships international students have faced, as well as their remarkable achievements.

So mark your calendar this Tuesday October 16 at 488 Swanston Street, Arrow on Swanston, Carlton - we only ask for a gold coin donation on entry to the dining hall to help us continue running events like these!

We look forward to seeing you there. Last chance to play before the exams!

About

Meld Magazine was incorporated as an independent not-for-profit media outlet in September 2008 to reach out to international students in Melbourne, and provide students the opportunity to gain real work experience.

Many international students live in or around the city because of the proximity to their colleges and universities, and that was where we decided to focus our efforts first. Many of us live, work and study locally too. Our editorial team is made of both local and international students, and it has worked to our advantage in providing local content in every sense of the word.
