First Friday Dance Club
December 7, 6-8pm, Queensbridge Square (1A Queens Bridge Street, Southbank)

Ever wanted to toe-tap like the jazzy dancers on Broadway? The First Friday Dance Club runs every first Friday of the month (as the name suggests), and December is “all about Broadway jazz with a Christmas flavour”. Hayley Ulberti, a lead instructor at The Space dance institution in Melbourne, will instruct participants through a series of choreographed show-tune routines. This is a fun, free, outdoor event open to the public – no registration or booking necessary. For more information, visit the City of Melbourne website, or have a read of what Meld thought about the First Friday Dance Club here.

Coffee Master-Class
December 8, 10.30am St Ali Coffee Roasters (12-18 Yarra Place, South Melbourne)

Melbourne is a city with developed appreciation for the humble coffee bean, and yet there are many of us still at a loss about the different blends and brewing methods. This Saturday, JURA coffee maker, along with green-bean connoisseur Salvatore Malatesta (also owner of café Sensory Lab) and Australian chef Adam D’Sylva, will be hosting a coffee master class at St ALi Coffee Roasters in South Melbourne. The class will not only explain the various origins of coffee beans and their distinctive characteristics in aroma and taste, but it will also instruct on methods of storage and brewing at home. This is a free event not to be missed for all coffee-lovers, but registration is essential by emailing juraevents@elevenpr.com.au.
