Transitions-Film-Festival-Encore

Good news folks, we’re running an encore ticket giveaway to the Transitions Film Festival!

Due to the overwhelming response, festival organisers are planning to run an additional screening of the opening night film Promised Land starring Matt Damon, and PLANEAT this Saturday, and we have more double passes up for grabs!

Promised Land

In Promised Land, Matt Damon plays Steve Butler, a corporate salesman whose journey from farm boy to big-time player takes an unexpected detour when he lands in a small town, where he grapples with a surprising array of both open hearts and closed doors. Directed by Gus Van Sant and co-written by Damon himself, Promised Land is a brave new feature film exploring the human side of the natural gas boom and the controversial technique of “fracking”. It’s also a highly relevant topic as Australia enters into its own coal seam gas boom.

PLANEAT

PLANEAT is the story of three men’s life-long search for a diet, which is good for our health, good for the environment and good for the future of the planet. With an additional cast of pioneering chefs and some of the best cooking you have ever seen, the scientists and doctors in the film present a convincing case for the West to re-examine its love affair with meat and dairy.

With the help of some innovative farmers and chefs, PLANEAT shows how the problems we face today can be solved, without simply resorting to a diet of lentils and lettuce leaves.

We have two pairs of tickets each to Promised Land and PLANEAT** for the win. All you need to do is tell us in the comments section below which of the two movies you would most like to watch by 5pm Friday February 22.

Remember to provide your real name and email address so we can get in touch with you. The competition is only open to readers in Victoria. The winner will be picked in a random draw and notified via email.

**Promised Land and PLANEAT will be showing this Saturday February 23, 1pm and 4.45pm respectively atCinema Nova. For more information about Transitions Film Festival screening times at Cinema Nova, please visit the Cinema Nova website.
