MBFWA S/S 2012/13 – Bec & Bridge Catwalk

EVEN if you’re not a journalist, blogger, style icon or fashion aficionado you can still see every look as it walks down the MBFW runway, live! Jamie-Maree Shipton tells you how.

WISH you could be there to catch the excitement of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week? Now you can.

For the first time ever, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia will be broadcasting every designer show held at Carriageworks live from the runway direct to audiences around the world.

This experience is thanks to a partnership between IMG Fashion and Australian fashion e-commerce retailer JASU.com.

This initiative will not only transport the action directly from the MBFW to any computer, mobile or tablet device, it will also bring the City of Sydney to life at a purpose-built live site situated in Martin Place, Sydney.

So if you are lucky enough to be on location in Sydney during fashion week, a giant screen and pop-up Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia Bar presented by Pelicano will provide an opportunity to view all the runway action.

Entertainment alongside the runway includes a bar  where you can enjoy bites off the grazing menu, live DJs and the fashionable cocktail list Pelicano is famous for, in a chic southern France-themed setting.

Jarrad Clark, Director of Global Production at IMG Fashion Events and Properties says the company is pleased to be able to provide innovative solutions for designers to connect with buyers, press and consumers around the globe, and the partnership with JASU.com has enabled them to provide “real time engagement with the runway action for fans around the world”.

The Spring/Summer 13 collections being showcased on the runways won’t be available in retail stores until late August/September, but fashionistas will be able to pre-order through JASU.com.

Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore says retailers, designers and manufacturers have faced tough economic conditions, and is encouraging Sydneysiders to “get out on the streets and support our fashion scene”.

“I can’t wait to see Martin Place become a front row seat to the buzz of the event.”

If you head on over to the MBFW Bar and screening site don’t forget to hashtag #MBFWALIVE so you can share your experience with other fashion lovers who will be watching the festivities online.
