Move mindfully: Bike tours for international students
EXPERIENCE Melbourne’s bicycle culture, gain confidence on on the road, and get better acquainted with the city while you’re at it. Jessica-Anne Lyons has more.
Melbourne is famous for its bicycle culture and now you can experience it for yourself while getting better acquainted with the city and its surrounds.
The Squeaky Wheel is hosting a bike tour to introduce international students to the city’s arts and cultural precincts, some of the best places to eat and shop, as well as Melbourne’s bars and nightlife.
Plus, the Squeaky Wheel will show you how to move mindfully in CBD traffic on a bicycle.
If you don’t have a bike, don’t worry – the Melbourne Bike Share will provide both bicycles and helmets.
For students who aren’t confident riding a bicycle on the road, you can attend one of the free Bike Skills Training sessions for beginners.
If you’re heading down to the Lord Mayor’s Student Welcome at Queensbridge Square tomorrow from 2pm to 5pm , you can sign up for any of the sessions at the Melbourne Bike Share marquee.
Or, you can send an email to Ben via info@thesqueakywheel.com.au with your chosen tour number and session time in the subject line.
Move Mindfully Bike Tours Location: CBD, meet at Melbourne Bike Share Station Federation Square, corner Flinders St
Students who are unable to make any of these dates, Squeaky Wheels is planning to hold two more tours taking place on Saturday May 4.
