FTW: 8 pizza vouchers at the new Jimmi Jamz on Lygon St
LYGON street’s new kid on the block Jimmi Jamz is giving away eight pizza vouchers to celebrate their opening! Alyce Shaw tells you how you can score a great student deal.
Jimmi Jamz has opened on Lygon St in Brunswick East, offering a cosy new spot for students to congregate over an affordable meal.
The focus is on the gourmet pizzas, and prices are a steal at under $10 for ‘in-house’ pizzas – think mushroom ragu with rocket and mozzarella ($8.90); squid, capers, garlic, lemon and mozzarella ($9.90); and for an Asian twist, Thai chicken, sweet chilli, fresh herbs, crushed peanuts and mozzarella ($9.90).
For an extra gold coin or two, you could get the ‘special pizzas’, and interesting selections include Korean BBQ beef, capsicum, caramelised onion, Japanese mayo and mozzarella, as well as the spicy beans, chorizo, fresh tomatoes, jalepenos, guacamole and mozzarella pizza at $10.90 each.
For those looking for a watering hole, Jimmi Jamz offers $2.50 pots and $4 wines from 3pm to 6pm daily.
Also worth a mention is the dining space itself. The brick and wood interior, the mixed use of pendant lamps and industrial bare bulb hanging lights, make for a cosy spot for a long overdue catch-up, and the beautiful long communal tables are ideal for large groups.
A short tram ride from the city, Jimmy Jamz is definitely one to file under the cheap eats list.
Jimmi Jamz is located on 175-177 Lygon St, Brunswick East, and is open Sunday to Thursday 7.30am to 11pm, and Friday and Saturday 7.30am to 12am.
