Have you ever wondered what that sport was on TV that looked an awful lot like rugby? Or perhaps you have heard team names rattled around by your friends but never knew what the team history was?

Then you should come down for an information session to learn about the national obsession that is footy!

Come join the Essendon Football Club (EFC), The Couch and the City of Melbourne for a night of all things ‘footy’. Find out more about the AFL and why Aussies are completely mad about it, and learn some basic AFL skills (we promise fighting will not be involved). Come dressed in black and red and find out how it feels to be a proper AFL fan!

From handball activities, photos with Skeeta (Essendon’s mascot) and a chance to win some Essendon FC merchandise, it will be a night that will make you fall in love Australia’s top sport.

About

Meld Magazine was incorporated as an independent not-for-profit media outlet in September 2008 to reach out to international students in Melbourne, and provide students the opportunity to gain real work experience.

Many international students live in or around the city because of the proximity to their colleges and universities, and that was where we decided to focus our efforts first. Many of us live, work and study locally too. Our editorial team is made of both local and international students, and it has worked to our advantage in providing local content in every sense of the word.
