We’re pleased to announce the launch of Melbourne’s first Accommodation and Living Fair for international students!

Taking place on March 12 at The Couch (69 Bourke St, Melbourne) from 5pm to 8pm, the event will bring to life different aspects of making Australia your home away from home.

Stalls and activities planned for the evening will include both the “serious stuff” and the fun parts of living independently.

You can explore your accommodation options, be equipped with must-know information about your rights when it comes to renting, and learn how to stay safe at home.

Additionally, you can find out how to whip up a fast and simple meal at home, and also pick up useful tips and ideas on home decoration, life hacks and DIY projects to try.

The event is indeed free and open to all international students, but the perks that come with registering your attendance will be well worth the effort. Students who register will be in the running to win prizes including:

  • A delicious $69 Classic Box from Hello Fresh
  • Cookbooks to bring your culinary skills to the next level
  • Movie vouchers to catch your favourite film this season
  • A one-month pass to Arrow on Swanston’s Fitness Centre (gym and pool)
  • And more!

The Accommodation and Living Fair will take place on March 12 from 5pm to 8pm at The Couch, 69 Bourke St, Melbourne. The fair is jointly hosted by the City of Melbourne, The Couch, the Australian Federation of International Students (AFIS) and Meld Magazine.

Register now on Eventbrite and do check in for latest updates through the Accommodation and Living Fair’s Facebook events page. For more information or enquiries about the event, please email info@internationalstudents.org.au.

About

Meld Magazine was incorporated as an independent not-for-profit media outlet in September 2008 to reach out to international students in Melbourne, and provide students the opportunity to gain real work experience.

Many international students live in or around the city because of the proximity to their colleges and universities, and that was where we decided to focus our efforts first. Many of us live, work and study locally too. Our editorial team is made of both local and international students, and it has worked to our advantage in providing local content in every sense of the word.
