Karen Poh is the founder and editor-in-chief of Meld Magazine. After four years in print, she packed up her bags and migrated online in 2010, and hasn’t looked back since. She is passionate about new media, its implications for journalism, and preparing media students for the changes facing the industry. She is also excited about the opportunities the internet has opened up to improve the health of communities through hyperlocal journalism. In 2013, she embarked on a Master of Journalism part-time at the University of Melbourne, with a focus on exploring what a sustainable business model for digital news would look like. She loves to cook, hates to iron, and is grumpy without her morning cup of coffee.
