Station 59 Free Comedy
Friday, April 8 (From 6.00pm) | Station 59, Richmond

A staple of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the ‘Free Comedy’ event returns for its fifth year at the local pub.

The ‘Revolutionary Comedy Alternative’ presents several laugh-out-loud acts for free (bookings still essential) as well as your chance to win a free beer! Meal and drink specials are also available for the losers.

Check out the Station 59 website, or the home of Free Comedy for more information and performer details.

Saturday, April 9 (11.00am – 5.00pm) | Lilydale Showgrounds

This inaugural festival of brewed delights is proudly presented by the Rotary Club of Wandin, and hopes to share the passion of locally produced beer and cider with the community.

The focus of the festival is to let people sample the finest boutique beers and ciders Victoria has to offer. So you don’t need to be an expert, you just have to love beer and cider, or be willing to give it a go!

There will also be copious amounts of food stalls to accompany any taste, as well as entertainment to make it a well-rounded day out.

There is an affordable entry fee of $10, but you’ll also score an official souvenir tasting glass for free – yours to keep, or you can get a $30 ticket, which includes 10 tokens that are exchangeable for samples.

The token system will be used to serve all beer and cider tastings (80ml), and each token is valued at $2.

For more information, and online ticket sales, visit the Yarra Valley Beer and Cider Festival website.

Step Off!
Saturday, April 9 (7.00pm) | Festival Hall

As a part of National Youth Week, Step Off! returns for its 12th consecutive year.

The dance event showcases some of Australia’s most talented dancers – including more than 550 competitors in 2015 alone, and is back in 2016 with some fresh talent for you to marvel at.

Brought to you by Moonee Valley City Council and partnering with the City of Melbourne, Step Off! is a great chance to see some great dance acts, music and  entertainment.

Tickets and more information are available through the Festival Hall website or the Melbourne City Council.

The Streat Vibes Music Festival will have the first ever live performance of Australia’s Eurovision song entry, ‘Sound of Silence’, and the X-factor’s 2013 winner (and our Eurovision entrant), Dami Im there to perform it!
Dynamic-duo Jess & Matt, and third-season finalist Johnny Ruffo will also be singing to complete the superstar line-up of some of The X-Factor’s finest talent. There will also be some meet and greets for lucky fans!

There will be food and market stalls to keep you entertained all day long, and a fireworks spectacular to end the night and festival in style.
