This Friday, drink coffee and do good. For every coffee you purchase on August 5 at a participating cafe around Australia, $1 will be donated to a local charity.

CafeSmart is an annual event from StreetSmart, aimed at helping Australia’s homeless through collecting donations and raising awareness of the issue of homelessness. Since 2013, StreetSmart has raised more than $3.8 million to help Australia’s homeless.

CafeSmart day is a great way to help out a local charity, with your morning coffee going towards helping homeless people in your community. With over 330 participating cafes signed up it won’t be hard to find one in your area.

About

Meld Magazine was incorporated as an independent not-for-profit media outlet in September 2008 to reach out to international students in Melbourne, and provide students the opportunity to gain real work experience.

Many international students live in or around the city because of the proximity to their colleges and universities, and that was where we decided to focus our efforts first. Many of us live, work and study locally too. Our editorial team is made of both local and international students, and it has worked to our advantage in providing local content in every sense of the word.
