Beauty review: Schwarzkopf’s BC Oil Miracle Finishing Treatment
WHAT are your most hairy nightmares? Do you have tips for managing a bad hair day? Meld’s resident beauty expert Emily Quak puts Schwarzkopf’s new line of hair oils to the test.
If you’re like me, it’s having to deal with frizzy, untameable hair when you wake up in the morning, and so I was really excited to receive hair giant Schwarzkopf Professional’s new line of hair oils ahead of its release this month.
Their BC Oil Miracle Finishing Treatment comes in two variations: the normal and the light version, specially formulated for fine hair types – and both are designed to soften, strengthen and protect hair, and most importantly, to eliminate frizz.
The secret is supposed to be in the “carrier oil”, which ensures the botanical oils in the product are distributed evenly through the hair and then evaporates as it dries, leaving only a fine layer of botanical oil behind.
I trialled the products for a couple of weeks, and was pleasantly surprised by the results.
The product can be used in a number of ways, which I thought was handy.
Smooth in on dry hair; or if you’re constantly in a rush in the mornings, reach for a small amount and run it through towelled-dry hair with your fingers and voila!
You can also use it before blow-drying or heat-styling your hair, which helps reduce frizz and speeds up the blow-drying process. Otherwise, slick it on post blow-dry for a smooth silky finish.
The oils have definitely worked for me. I’ve seen a noticeable improvement particularly after washing and blow-drying my hair. It’s been a lot less frizzy and much easier to comb through. I also like how it doesn’t weigh my hair down, and it’s gentle enough for everyday use, leaving your hair nourished, protected and shiny.
Schwarzkopf Professional’s BC Oil Miracle Finishing Treatment is now retailing at Coles, Woolworths and selected pharmacies for $39.95 per 100mL bottle.
