TEDxMelbourne set to unpack ‘innovation’
AFTER a successful major conference themed ‘Community and Youth’ last year, and a number of other satellite ones this year, TEDxMelbourne is coming back to town.
Themed Innovation, the conference will take place on Friday October 7 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The speakers for the event are psychologist Amantha Imber, former Victorian MP Evan Thornley, digital media entrepreneur Liza Boston, Deloitte Digital CEO Pete Williams, entrepreneur Roger La Salle and social entrepreneur Simon Griffiths.
TEDxMelbourne organiser Jon Yeo said it would be an event attracting leaders, change-makers and visionaries in the area of innovation.
“For most people, TED is just online. We (TEDxMelbourne) provide the physical space for people to connect with their community,” Mr Yeo said.
“TED always attracts an energized and excited group of people.
“Students would be able to connect with right-minded, passionate, informed and educated people.”
The conference will run from 9.30am to 4pm, followed by a networking session.
Tickets are now on sale, and interested participants are advised to register early, as tickets usually sell out within days, Mr Yeo said.
