FASHIONISTAS resist the urge to squeal in delight. Topshop is coming to Australia! Emily Quak has the details.

Yep, in another coup for the country’s high street fashion lovers, the first Australian Topshop and Topman store is set to open in The Jam Factory on Chapel St, Melbourne, sometime in December.

Speaking in Australia recently, Topshop managing director Mary Homer said the Chapel St store would have all the latest trends straight from the UK , ensuring fashion fans won’t be a season behind the Northern Hemisphere.

“I feel confident the Topshop aesthetic will strike a chord with the effortless chic Australian girls have become synonymous with in recent years,” she said.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Next Athleisure with the joint aim of creating a dynamic retail space to house the best we have to offer in a city known for it’s diverse cultures and inspiring street style.”

A trendsetter in the UK,  Topshop made a name for itself by providing high-end, but affordable street wear. In 2007, the brand teamed up with super-famous supermodel Kate Moss, who has since become a collaborative designer.

Topshop has stores in more than 30 countries, but until now, Aussie fans have been forced to get their fashion fix through the brand’s online store.

The Chapel St store will sell both men’s and women’s clothing, and will offer a complimentary personal shopping service (all together now – “eep!”), which will include a private fitting room, complimentary refreshments, the latest fashion magazines and expert styling advice.

Topshoppers will also be able to get their hands on the brand’s new makeup collection when the store opens at the end of the year.  Topshop Makeup features brilliant designs and fashion-forward colours and textures to create an on-trend, high quality look that is also affordable.
