Stemming from a musical upbringing, Czarina is Philippine-born singer/songwriter who now calls Melbourne home.
Her beautiful style has been affirmed in recent years due to her confidence in solo works with catchy melodies and lyric- writing, as well as collaborative projects with rappers, producers, singers and songwriters from Australia and abroad.
The feeling one gets upon listening to Czarina is something that could be described as a kind of alluring foreignness – the feeling that, perhaps, you are being taken somewhere exciting, a place where you had never thought to go. Czarina is stylish and sensual, yet ever so sweet.
She will be accompanied by Jacinta, a Melbourne pianist who loves putting a jazzy spin on hits from the 50s and 60s. Her choice of music covers a range of styles, from The Beatles to The Beach Boys and Chuck Berry to Elvis. Having played for 20 years, Jacinta creates toe-tapping, feel-good music as she improvises up and down the piano.
So head down to The Hammy, located in Westwood Place, off Bourke Street this Friday August 3rd, to see Czarina with special guest Jacinta play some sweet & sassy tunes, while sipping on Melbourne’s renowned syndicate coffee and sampling an array of decadent desserts. No cover charge, doors open from 8pm til late.
