The Grampians Explore Discover iPhone app
LEE Yaocheng tries out the Grampians Explore Discover iPhone app, the digital companion for a holiday at the Grampians National Park in Victoria.
Other than the usual touristy venues like Great Ocean Road and Mount Buller, the Grampians National Park in Victoria isn’t a bad place to visit and discover the great Australian outdoors.
The recently launched, free Grampians Explore Discover iPhone app gives users directions to the Park from Adelaide and Melbourne, suggested itineraries, tips, travel routes, and information about native flora.
The app also provides information about the highlights of the Park – waterfalls, aboriginal rock art sites, look outs, and walking trails. Each highlight is marked out on the app’s integrated map.
There’s also a Global Positioning System (GPS) programme to help users find their way around the Park.
Users can also customise their own itinerary by adding places of interest to the “My Trip” programme. Once locked in, information about the selections can be accessed directly from the programme.
A decent wireless internet connection is needed to operate the integrated maps though.
Overall, the Grampians Explore Discover app, with its integrated maps and GPS programme, seems like it will save you a lot of time and make your holiday at the Grampians an enjoyable one.
