Cancelled KPRS Charity

BAD news for K-Pop fans here in Victoria. The Melbourne leg of the KRPS Charity Concert has been called off with  less than a week to go. Carene Chong has the details.

Melbourne KPRS Charity Korean KPop Cancelled

We told you earlier this year about the KRPS charity concert meant to be held in Melbourne. The ill-fated concert was originally slated to take place in late  July but had been pushed to early October due to poor ticket sales and sponsor issues.

But concert organiser Aus2One Entertainment says those were not the main reasons that had led to the axing of the event.

“It was a combination of a series of problems that made us decide it would be better off canceling the concert,” representative Danny Chen says.

He cites “administrative issues” and “understaffing” as other contributing factors.

Aus2One Entertainment has issued an official apology on their website and will endeavor to issue refunds and compensations as soon as possible.

The main purpose of the event was to raise money for the charity KRPS, to assist in finding a cure for the eye disease known as Retinitis Pigmentosa. However, due to less than expected ticket sales, we deemed it to be more beneficial to the charity if we made a donation on behalf of Aus2One for an amount greater than what would have been raised by the event.”*

Despite the unfortunate turn of events, Mr Chen says the organisation is still committed to bringing K-Pop to Melbourne in the near future.

“We have built a better team along the way and will therefore be more experienced to carry out any future events,” he says.

Sydney fans need not fret as the concert will be going ahead in their city on October 7 at the City Recital Hall Angel Place.

However, due to the rescheduling of the concert, Alexander of UKISS fame will no longer be able to attend and perform at the event.

Fans wishing to obtain a refund or credit for their tickets can do so by emailing krps@aus2one.com with their full names and ticket details.
