Fans of C.S. Lewis’ popular book series The Chronicles of Narnia, rejoice! Walk through the cupboard into a wintry wonderland and experience the wonder of the White Witch’s icy throne or reach out and touch a frozen waterfall. You may even pick up a science fact or two by finding out how our actions affect the earth’s climate, and if us humans really can communicate with animals. Melbourne Knowledge Week

When one thinks about Melbourne, what comes to mind? Good coffee, amazing food, and diverse culture, perhaps? Melbourne is also home to many knowledge organisations and universities (the latter we all know about!). Melbourne Knowledge Week provides a platform for the city to showcase her strengths in the knowledge sector, and encourage discussion about various advancements we are seeing in the world today. Topics include higher education, biotechnology, creative industries and more.
Plus, there are many events that don’t require an admission fee. The above video presents Augmented Reality, a multimedia sensory experience. You can activate virtual scenes, interact with virtual people, or even watch a digital plane land right in Federation Square. Free Women’s Self-defence Classes

Ever wanted to kick some butt but end up flailing all four limbs? Or perhaps you always wanted to pick up some self-defence skills but never had the time. For one week, Wing Chun Bing Fa Kung Fu Academy is offering free self-defence classes for women of all ages.
