International Student City Ambassador Program combines ‘work’ and travel
GET to know the city of Melbourne like the back of your hand by being an International Student City Ambassador! Applications close tomorrow so don’t miss out. Jordan Thompson has the details.
If you are looking to learn about Melbourne and share your excitement for the city’s vibrant culture, now is the time to apply to be part of the International Student City Ambassador Program for 2014.
The International Student City Ambassador Program is offering students the opportunity to be trained as Melbourne experts and guide visitors who are new to the city.
In addition to becoming that go-to for what’s on and where, it’ll be taking your overseas student experience to a whole new level as you meeting and interact with international, interstate or even inter-suburbian visitors wide-eyed and overwhelmed by the cultural hub of Swanston St.
There are spots open for 15 enthusiastic volunteers for the first six months of 2014. Shifts run Monday to Saturday and will involve each volunteer attending one shift a week.
Volunteers will undertake two days of training before commencing their role, and will be supported through ongoing on-the-job training.
Your efforts will be recognised at the end of your six months with an official certificate and a volunteer appreciation event.
And other perks include being the first in on Melbourne’s nooks and crannies, or that secret word-of-mouth restaurant or bar.
Applications close tomorrow Friday, October 25, so get in quick and apply now! Here’s how:
