Malaysian Aspiration Summit 2013: Turning the Tide
STUDENT leaders and the international student community will have the opportunity to network and engage with Malaysian leaders this weekend at the Malaysian Aspiration Summit (MAS) 2013.
The Malaysian Aspiration Summit (MAS) is an annual state-wide event drawing together students from across Victoria to engage with prominent Malaysian leaders from government, private sector and civil society.
The event seeks to provide a platform for constructive dialogue between participants, on topics ranging from politics to economic development as well as issues affecting the overseas Malaysian community.
The theme of MAS 2013, ‘Turning the Tide’, explores Malaysia’s brain drain and negative perceptions of the state of affairs in Malaysia. Discussions will be focused on finding solutions to ‘turn the tide’ on these trends.
Two sessions will be dedicated to exploring the issues falling under the theme: ‘The importance of quality and diverse talent in transforming Malaysia into a high-income nation’ and ‘Upholding integrity and inclusiveness in Malaysian political practice and governance’.
The Malaysian Aspiration Summit 2013 will take place this Sunday, October 6 from 9.30am – 5.00pm at the Marriott Hotel (Corner Exhibition and Lonsdale St, Melbourne, 3000).
Those interested in attending can register at the Malaysian Students’ Council of Australia, Victoria’s official website. To find out more about the line-up of speakers through the Malaysian Aspiration Program’s Facebook page.
