Melbourne Festival 2013
October 11 – October 27; Various locations
Diving into its second week, Melbourne Festival 2013 is continuing its run through to October 27. With several things to see throughout the city, the festival offers plenty for those looking to enjoy Melbourne’s artistic hub.
As one of the world’s leading arts festivals, examples of Melbourne Festival’s events on offer include an exciting lineup of theatre acts, dance performances, music performance, visual art displays and films.
Some of the feature theatre events happening exclusively this weekend are All That Is Wrong and Teenage Riot, both by Beligan theatre company, Ontroerend Goed. Both shows will be premiering at the Arts Centre Melbourne (Fairfax Studio).

Australian Audio & AV Show
October 18 – 20; InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto (495 Collins St, Melbourne, 3000)
This weekend will see one of Australia’s largest audio and video technology showcases return to Melbourne.
With more sales, extended opening hours and an increase in the event’s scale, the Australian Audio & AV Show pledges to bring the latest audio and AV equipment to avid tech enthusiasts. These range from loudspeakers to turntables, TVs to projectors and much more.
More than 50 individual demo rooms are set with extra show attractions available.
Some of these include a “headzone” – a dedicated area for a personal intimate experience with the finest headphones and headsets from around the world – and the “wheat” suite – a dedicated theatre for presentations by tech experts on the different equipment.
If you consider yourself to be a bit of an AV techie, this is a show not to be missed.

Masterchef Pop-Up Restaurant
October 1 – October 26; Crown Melbourne Rooftop (8 Whiteman St, Southbank, 3006)
Can’t get enough of the hit cooking show, Masterchef? This weekend, you’ll be able to sample some of the culinary creations cooked up by past Masterchef contestants at the Masterchef Pop-Up Restaurant.
Set up at Crown Melbourne Rooftop, the pop-up restaurant will be serving lunch and dinner daily for the period of October.
Several Masterchef alumni will appear as special guests, providing fans with the opportunity to not only enjoy a sumptuous meal but meet and interact with their favorite cooking stars.
