NAIDOC Concert

CATCH some tunes in the city, enjoy a free concert at Fed Square, find something new at Village Melbourne or pick up a retro find at the Queen Victoria Market. Daniel Driscoll has you covered this weekend. 

Circular
Friday, July 11 (10.00pm – 5.00am); Loop Project Space & Bar (23 Meyers Place, Melbourne)

Head over to Circular at Loop Project Space & Bar for some cool tunes and fun visuals at this free event. Circular is an event dedicated to bringing like-minded DJ’s and visual artists together to create the best experience possible.

DJ Kiti and Chiara Kickdrum join Andre Le Vogue and Jani HO, fresh from playing live in Detroit as part of Movement Festival. This band of merry DJ’s will bring you a night of fine electronica and sonic manipulations, enhanced with visual imagery by VDMO KSTATI.

Dance up a storm or just kick back with a drink and soak up the atmosphere, either way it’s a great way to kick off a Friday night.

NAIDOC Week March and Free Concert
Friday, July 11 (10.00am); Victorian Aboriginal Health Services (186 Nicholson St, Fitzroy) and (11.00am); Federation Square (Corner Flinders Street and Swanston Street, Melbourne)

Celebrate NAIDOC Week by joining in the annual march and then enjoy a free concert at Fed Square. NAIDOC Week is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Indigenous Australians in various fields.

The day will begin with a BBQ Breakfast at the Victorian Aboriginal Health Services at 8.30 am. At 10 am the march will proceed down Nicholson Street into the city and finish at Fed Square at 11 am.

The concert will start at 11 am with Welcome to Country & speeches followed by live performances from Bart Willoughby& Band and Uncle Johnny Lovett.

Whether you join the march or just head on down for the concert, it’ll be a great day out.

Take 2 Pop Up Market at Queen Victoria Market
Sunday, July 13 (9.00am – 3.00pm); Queen Victoria Market A Shed (65 – 159 Victoria St, Melbourne)

The Take 2 Pop Up Market is on at the Queen Victoria Market again. Head on over to Melbourne’s longest running recycled fashion market to pick up something you won’t find anywhere else.

You’ll find Australian and international designers mixed in with High Street brands and some very cool vintage and retro gear including shoes, hats, sunglasses and jewellery.

Pick up a bargain and maybe have a look through the Queen Vic, you never know what you’ll find!

The Village Art and Design Fair
Sunday, July 13 (11.00am – 4.00pm); Village Melbourne (557 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne)

The Village Art and DesignFair is on at Village Melbourne. The Fair celebrates inspiration and creative energy with a curated selection of art and design stalls, showcasing wares from local artists and designers.

Pick up some handmade jewellery, cool candles, homemade short bread, clothing and an assortment of other goodies from independent designers.

Take a break and grab a drink or a bite to eat at The Village Basserie in The Garden before wandering back in for another look around.

Have a shop around and enjoy a great day out!
