Pets in the Park 2017
Sunday, March 26 (11.00am – 4.00pm) | Central Park, Malvern East

If you’ve got a furry or scaly friend, bring them along this Saturday for Pets in the Park! And even if you don’t have one come along anyway – from pet owners to pet admirers, everyone is invited.

Enjoy a whole day of fun designed for both animals and humans alike. Activities include a Stunt Dogs show, competitions for ‘Best Trick’ and ‘Look-A-Like’, a pet Q&A session and more! As for kids, face painting and a multitude of other activities will be available to keep everyone happy.

So put on your dancing shoes and head there to Central Park this weekend. Entry for the event is free! Catch the train to Darling Station and the park is a 20 min walk away.

Asia Pop Fest
Friday, March 24 (5.00pm – 10.00pm) | Sidney Myer Music Bowl (21 Linlithgow Avenue)

Calling all students old and new! Asia Pop Fest will be a welcome celebration for this year’s new international students. In collaboration with the Lord Mayor’s Student Welcome, this event will be held at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl with talents such as Nathan Hartono, Ailee and Charlie Lim included in the show lineup. Melbourne’s Lord Mayor, Robert Doyle, will also be delivering a welcome message.

For fans of Vocaloid, a performance by virtual star IA will also be taking place, alongside competitions, a gaming lounge and interactive activities for students. In true Melbourne fashion, food trucks will be present to provide you with yummy munchies.

Reap the benefits of being a student because this event is completely free for you! Non-students will be charged $25 entry fee.

Korea Week Festival 2017

Melbourne is a vibrant city full of art and culture, and what better way to showcase this than by celebrate it through festivals? Korea Week Festival is a celebration of one of the world’s most popular cultures.

Everything that people love about it will be on show: expect traditional Hanbok (the traditional Korean clothing) wearing competitions, Taekwondo and Taekkyeon demonstrations as well as more modern aspects of the culture such as K-Pop! Along with K-Food cooking shows, authentic Korean food will be available as well.

Just a stone’s throw away from Flinders St Station, take the tram down William St to Casino East – Stop 112. Or, just have a simple walk along the Yarra — you’ll get there in no time.

This event is free but don’t forget to bring some cash for any food or goodies you’d like to buy!

Ceres Harvest Festival 2017
Saturday, March 25 (10.00am – 3.00pm) | CERES Community Environment Park (Stewart St, Brunswick)

Want to learn how to be sustainable? CERES is a not-for-profit, award winning centre for education and research in environmental strategies. Celebrate the earth and learn from the educational farm and bee hives open to the public.

Additionally, a baking, preserves and vegetable growing competition will be taking place. Food stalls will also be present and will feature a range of organic foods with vegan options. If you’re into ethical fashion instead, don’t miss out on the festival market where stallholders will be selling a range of ethically made products not limited to fashion and craft items.

Local talents will also be performing on the day to capture the festival vibes.

Entry for adults is $5 and free for kids. Proceeds from this great family day out event will go to keeping CERES running!
