Always wanted to be a journalist? Here’s your chance!

ASPIRING journalists listen up – the City of Yarra is organising a free workshop just for you! Learn from a former Herald Sun journalist and pick up some new skills. Ernest Lee tells you more.

If you are an aspiring journalist or a citizen journalist who wants to write stories that matter, this workshop could be for you. InfoXchange, in partnership with the City of Yarra, is running a writing workshop on Friday March 28 with Paul Stewart, a former Herald Sun journalist.

In this fun, informative and interactive writing workshop, you will get to brush up on your writing skills and also get to hear invaluable advice from Mr Stewart as he shares his experience as a journalist.

Those who reside in the City of Yarra (suburbs include: Collingwood, Richmond, Fitzroy, North Carlton, and Northcote) are also invited to be a part of the yarraReporter project. yarraReporter is a grassroots community journalism project, aimed at giving people support by equipping them with the skills and confidence to share stories that matter to them.

Food will be provided and the workshop is entirely free. Everyone is welcome to participate, so head down to the Fitzroy Library from 1:00pm to 4:00pm this Friday. RSVP by contacting Brendan on 9452 6411.
