So for many of you, school resumes or starts this week, time to hit the libraries and textbooks and work towards those much coveted H1s or High Distinctions. Thank goodness there won’t be the launch of an award-winning video game series’ latest iteration in Melbourne in the near future to distract you from your studies.
Oh wait…
On the night of March 11, the Heart of the Swarm expansion set, the latest addition to the StarCraft II video game series, will be unleashed at Federation Square in the city.
The official launch event will feature competitive Heart of the Swarm games between top Australian professional StarCraft II players, as well as a panel and questions and answers session with StarCraft II 3D Artist Luke Mancini and Game Director Dustin Browder. There will also be a cosplay contest and chances to win prizes such as Razer and SteelSeries products.
At midnight, people who have pre-ordered the game will be allowed to collect it and have it autographed by its developers.
This official Heart of the Swarm launch event is just one of many that will happen around the world on the same day. The other official Heart of the Swarm launch events will be in Irvine in California, Mexico City, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei and Versailles in France.
