Remake Workshop

In this age of consumer excess, municipal waste has become a bigger problem than ever. Stop the harmful cycle and learn to be sustainable by taking part in the Remake Workshop this Sunday.

Kyle Bush of Humble Be Workshop will be teaching participants how to create something useful out of items that are normally thrown out as ‘junk’.

In this hands-on workshop, participants will have the choice of making a notebook or a photo-frame to take home. Make your choice beforehand, as each person will need to B.Y.O. some items for the project.

For notebook:
Piece of fabric to use as book cover (old clothing / curtain / tea cloth)
Handful of A4 paper (already printed on one side)

For photo-frame:
Printed photograph (landscape / portrait at standard 4 inches x 6 inches)
Unwanted / second-hand hardback book (at least 120mm x 170mm)

The event is free, but registration is essential. Register now by clicking here.

The Good Cycles Workshop

The Good Cycles Workshop

Get your bike ready for some summer-time fun!

The Good Cycles Workshop will be on hand to provide cyclists with advice and tips on how to improve and maintain your bike at peak condition.

B.Y.O. bike for a free assessment, or simply come along to watch some free demonstrations on how to change tube, fix the chains, and do regular tune-ups.

The workshop caters to both veteran cyclists and enthusiastic beginners. For more information about Good Cycles, visit their official website.

Round She Goes: Pre-loved Fashion Market
Sunday, October 27 (10am-3pm); Coburg Town Hall (90 Bell St, Coburg)

Round She Goes is an award-winning fashion market for women, selling pre-loved vintage goodies including clothes, shoes, accessories and jewellery.

While there are plenty of vintage fashion markets around Melbourne, Round She Goes sets itself apart by the quality of the items on offer.

Trawling through the stalls, one will often find well-kept treasures by luxury fashion houses such as Prada and Celine, as well as hip designer items by Marc Jacobs, Gorman, and Camilla and Marc.

With more than 70 stalls registered, shoppers can rejuvenate themselves at the market café, or perhaps chow down at the Mr Burger Food Truck that will be popping in for the day.

Entry is by a gold coin donation, and the Red Cross will also be present on the day to collect donations of clothing items by the public.

This is a fashion market not to be missed!

Car Club Showcase
Sunday, October 27 (11am-2.30pm); Federation Square, Melbourne

This Sunday, the Flinders St frontage of Federation Square will be transformed into a glamorous car gallery for the monthly Car Club Showcase.

The Car Club Showcase is a free motor show that runs on the last Sunday of each month, and in October, the spotlight is on the cars from the Classic and Historical Automobile Club of Australia.

A number of vintage cars will be on display, some from as far back as the mid 1900s. All have been lovingly restored and maintained by their owners, whom will be on hand to speak with visitors about their respective automobiles.

Visitors will also have a chance to meet and speak with other like-minded enthusiasts about all things car-related.

So, head down to Federation Square this Sunday for a weekend activity that is a little bit different!
