Upcoming concerts in Melbourne for the rest of 2014

THOUGH the year is only just over halfway done, a lot of huge name acts have yet to perform in Melbourne. Trinity College Foundation Studies students Newyear Bunchasakdiphat and Ella Taray bring you the names headlining the rest of 2014’s concert year.

The year is half way over, but that’s not the end of great music, awesome concerts and fun festivities. Though huge names including Queen, Adam Lambert and Lily Allen have already come and gone, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any concerts to see. With many huge names left for the music concert calendar, we pick out some of favourite acts coming up throughout the rest of 2014.

Justin Timberlake: The 20/20 Experience World Tour

A must go-to concert, not only is Justin Timberlake one of the biggest and hottest names there is in the music industry, but we can already tell from just the title itself that it is going to be awesome.

His latest album, The 20/20 Experience was the best-selling album of 2013 in the United States and spawned hits like ‘Suit and Tie‘ and ‘Mirrors‘.

Kanye West: The Yeezus Tour

Originally dated for May, The Yeezus Tour brings the always controversial Kanye West to Australian shores!

As one of the most influential figures in rap today, Kanye’s music has been lauded by fans and critics, in spite of his rocky relationship with the media. Tickets have sold out but there’s always a chance of getting in if you diligently keep checking back with Ticketek.

Katy Perry: Prismatic World Tour

What will this amazing singer show her fans next?

Hot off the back of her chart-topping fourth album, Prism, the talented Katy Perry will ‘roar’ up the stage not for just one night, but a wowing eight nights in Melbourne (four in November and another four in December)!

The Madden Brothers

The Madden Brothers, Benji and Joel, have stormed Australia by storm with their latest single “We Are Done” and they’ll be coming to Melbourne’s Hisense Arena!

The former Good Charlotte bandmates will be performing songs off their first studio album Greetings from California on the evening.

Stereosonic

Stereosonic is a two-day music festival during the summer for those who enjoy electronic and party music.

Featuring some of the hottest DJs on the scene right now, this music festival is a yearly cultural event for partygoers.
