18th ISANA Victoria/Tasmania State Conference
As international student enrolments rise in Australia and student advisers are asked to do more with a lot less, how can students and industry professionals work together to further ensure the needs of international students are being looked after?
This is the question that ISANA is posing at its 18th ISANA Victoria/Tasmania State Conference, this year hosted at William Angliss Conference Centre in Melbourne on Friday, September 1. Its theme ‘Working Together: Solution Focused Support for International Students in the 21st Century’ will explore ways to better support international students amidst policy changes and changing regulations set by universities and by government.
Ongoing issues pertinent to the international student community which ISANA will open to participants at the conference include (but are not limited to):
- Accommodation
- Visa changes
- Student support services
- OSHC
- Sexual health and equity
The conference will invite guest expert speakers and facilitators to present and speak about these issues. Panels, which will also include student speakers, have also been planned to further provide conference attendees with a range of diverse opinions and strategies that address the conferences’ theme.
Registration for the 18th ISANA Victoria/Tasmania State Conference is now open. ISANA members can register to attend for $270 while non-members will need to pay $350 to attend. Presenters and students meanwhile will only need to pay $150. All registrations and payments need to be made by Thursday, August 31.
The 18th ISANA Victoria/Tasmania State Conference will take place on Friday, September 1. The conference will take place at the William Angliss Conference Centre, located at 555 La Trobe St, Level 12, Melbourne. More on the conference can be found at ISANA’s official website.
