Industry Talk and Tour: Community building with Library at the Dock
Libraries are so much more than just quiet places you can go to study or borrow books. Oftentimes, libraries are the centre for community building; a place where people of all ages, backgrounds and orientations can gather and create positive connections to help strengthen their own groups, or that of the wider community.
And in that way, libraries function as an ideal hub for events and activities put together by small organisations and are the perfect place where ideas can be shared and talent can be fostered.
If a role in community building, development and engagement sounds like something you see yourself occupying one day, then you’re in luck!
Together with the City of Melbourne, Meld proudly presents its Industry Talk and Tour with Library at The Dock on Thursday, August 17 (9.15am – 11.15am)
Students who take part in this talk and tour will:
- Receive a guided tour of the space
- Gain insight into the library and recreation business
- Learn why Library at the Dock is an important imitative for the City of Melbourne
- Get a chance to network with staff members over morning tea
